Casey Story Grove - Reading in the great outdoors!
The Casey Library Media Center is participating with 26 other Austin ISD elementary schools to create a "Story Walk" on our campuses. Every 4 - 6 weeks, we will rotate storybooks that have been adapted for reading outdoors! I am using metal realtor signs to display oversized laminated pages of different story books. Our first book, "Cat's Colors" was a huge success. The story rotation will begin again in the fall of the 2021-2022 school year. Our students, families, and local community are all welcome to come read the stories in our new Story Grove. Check out the pictures below. More info coming soon!.

Library STREAM LessonsDear Casey Crocodiles,
I am in the process of creating Casey Library STREAM Lessons for students to access at home. The lessons focus on Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, and Math. This is intended to be another helpful resource to keep students reading and learning while we are at home. I hope that you enjoy the lessons! Take care and happy reading! Sincerely, Mr. Garcia PS. Please hold on to your Casey library books and keep them in a safe location. When we return to the building in the fall, I will round-up all of the library books and sanitize them. Thank you! Click the link below to access the lessons: STREAM Lesson 1: "Creepy Carrots" STREAM Lesson 2: "A Tale of Two Beasts" STREAM Lesson 3: "The Case of the Missing Carrot Cake" Library Permission Forms

Please sign and return the permission slip so that your child can check-out and borrow books from the Casey Library Media Center. "Jack & the Beanstalk: A Giant of a Tale"
Puppet Show Spring 2019 To continue our annual Literacy Spirit Week @ Casey tradition, the Casey Library Media Center presented an "off, off, off Broadway" puppet show production of "Jack & the Beanstalk: A Giant of a Tale" adapted by Mr. Garcia and the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade Casey Crocodiles of the 2018-19 school year. Our Librarian, Mr. Garcia, enjoys producing 1 puppet show each year. The puppet show ran for 2 weeks for all PreK-3 - 5th grade classes and everyone LOVED it! Every student that attended received special "magic beans" advertising Literacy Spirit Week @ Casey and reminding them that anything can happen "Once Upon a Time...". Please enjoy the YouTube video! Remember: Never judge a book by it's cover! |
